Hinton First Baptist Church Hinton, West Virginia Organized 1872 Pastor - Warren Gilpen

 
First Baptist of Hinton was organized in 1872. It is located on Temple Street overlooking the beautiful New River. The church is the only church in the Association aligned both with the American Baptist Churches, USA and the Southern Baptist Convention.
Presently the church is without a pastor. The American Baptist Woman's Ministry is very active in this church, and they were responsible for inviting the Greenbrier Association to their church for the 2001 Mission Fair. They also prepared a wonderful meal for all in attendance.

Of the two American Baptist Churches in Hinton (Hinton Central is the other), Hinton First is the largest in membership. It has in the past been a very active participate in the life of the Association, and it is hoped that it is a part for many years to come.
