2002 GREENBRIER BAPTIST ASSOCIATION MEETING
Tuesday, July 30, the people of the Greenbrier Baptist Association gathered at Shuck Memorial Bapist Church for the 202nd Annual Greenbrier Baptist Association Meeting. Moderator Rodney Pack of the Old Greenbrier Baptist Church called the meeting to order to what was to become a very successful day of meetings for the Association.
The Greenbrier Association is the oldest Baptist Association of Churches in West Virginia. The meetings have alternated between churches in this association since the beginning. While it is not known how many times the Association has met in the Lewisburg area in the past, it is known that it has been more than ten years since the last meeting at Shuck Church. This is also the first time that West Point and Shuck got together to host this event.
A few of the major highlights for this years meeting would have to have been the Bible Study led by Dr. Danny Franke; the music provided by the combined choirs of Shuck and West Point; the “All Shucks” band; the homemade ice cream and the wonderful picnic dinner; the annual sermon by Travis Norvell; and the music provided by many other groups from different churches of the Association.
This year the 203rd Annual Meeting will be held at the Enon Baptist Church in Frankford.
